Bali Guide

My love for Bali runs deep. It’s definitely one of my favorite places in the world (if you’ve never been, think a mix of Ibiza, Hawaii, and Miami). Each time I return I find this gem of an island more alluring, the lush green plantation more exotic, and yet simultaneously increasingly more developed with countless options for dining, sunsets and more.

The scene here is growing quickly so make sure you read up on the latest when you’re heading over as my tips my be outdated by then. Nevertheless, in case you plan to go soon, here are just a few 2017 highlights.

Favorite place to stay

Anantara Uluwatu – if you follow my instagram (@stylechine) or insta stories you’ll see the obsession I have with infinity pools and sunsets. If you’re coming for a little luxury, this is the ideal place to spend your days relaxing pool side while waiting for the stunning sunset to fall just before your eyes. Let’s not forget the dreamy rooms with private outdoor jacuzzis, or if you’re feeling even more baller, private pools facing the ocean.

*Tip: Don’t be turned away by the prices, Bali can also be done on a budget with countless adorable boutique hotels, not to mention Airbnbs!

Favorite places to see the sunset

El Kabron – just a quick 10 minute drive away from Anantara you’ll find yourself watching the sunset from yet another prime location. Complete with a full bar, Moët on entry, and shisha, El Kabron makes for the perfect afternoon. If you get hungry, stay for their Spanish cuisine, you won’t be disappointed. Make sure you get some manchego & jamon to munch on. Dreamy.

Rock bar @ Ayana Resort – let me preface this by telling you this is definitely a very touristy place. But nevertheless, if you’re staying in Uluwatu, it’s really quite a gorgeous site. Try to arrive very early as there will almost definitely be a line. Don’t take anyone’s first word if they say they’re full, the place is actually huge and people do leave, believe it or not. If you can pull strings somehow, the best spot is right by the bar.

Favorite night out

Ku De Ta – I’ve been going here for quite some time and it’s definitely one of the top hits on google search which can sometimes be a red flag for people, but I continue to recommend this Day & Night time beach club. The pool is lit at night, the DJ is always on point, and the crowd is chill. Plus, it’s open until 2am!

In an effort not to overwhelm with information, I’ll stop here but if you have any questions or recommendations please do let me know! I’m always happy to hear from you all!
