How to: Wear summer dresses in the winter

When I travel, I love re-styling a few key pieces into multiple outfits. But when your visits are cross-climate, this tends to get a little trickier, especially when you’re trying to pack light and avoid spending hours at baggage claim. This winter, I spent my first week in sunny Cartagena then quickly found myself in sub-zero Beijing with floral rompers…

So here goes my attempt at style tip #1: layer your summer dresses with a chunky sweater and (optional) tights for an easy chic winter look! If you have limited suitcase space (as I always do due to my compulsive need to pack outfit-specific shoes) pack solid, basic color sweaters like black & white that can go with any dress you may have! See above for two examples!

And style tip #2: wear all your heaviest/largest items on the plane. I’m always freezing onboard so this is really a two birds one stone situation, saving valuable suitcase real estate & keeping cozy as you consume awful plane food.

Hope this was helpful & happy travels!
