This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with a good friend (an incredibly talented Director) in collaboration with an exciting company that helps normal women like us through their bridesmaid experiences.  Visit www.brideside.com for more details if you’re already intrigued.  I know I was.

The concept was to film an ad showcasing the process of selecting a bridesmaid dress from start to finish through Brideside.  We started off the shoot in an apartment on the west side, filming the experience of a bridesmaid ordering online and receiving a beautiful box of curated dresses right at the convenience of her home.

I walked into this apartment originally thinking it was a model home the director had rented for the shoot, only to find out it was the actual home of one of the other models.  That obviously made me feel really good about my apartment and it’s Ikea furnishings…

This was my first shoot as a “model/actress” part (which I am obviously not) and I was most ecstatic to see the that the lovely co-founder, Nicole, was 1) incredibly sweet 2) from Kellogg (I went to NU) and 3) had chosen a beautiful dress for me.  I had already mentally prepared myself for the worst case scenario, but luckily all the selections she had were gorgeous which made my job so much easier!

The film then progressed to Central Park where we filmed a mock “wedding photoshoot.”  Here, I learned the true skill of fake laughing.  I also discovered the Ladies Pavilion, potentially the most beautiful place in New York.  Of course all the onlookers wanted to wish the “bride” congrats as they passed, and we let them (snicker).

The adorable detailed floral headbands were also stunning! They really added a modern/garden of Eden touch.

All in all, I had an incredible time despite the simmering heat and humidity in my tulle layered dress.  Depending on how the finished product turns out, I might have to consider acting… Just kidding 😉 I’ll stick to blogging!
